From Iron Mountain Daily News
Oconee Spirit Press has published an early little work of bestselling mystery novelist, Carolyn Hart, "Flee From the Past." (Oconee Spirit Press, www.oconeespirit.com/159 pages)

Carolyn Hart, whose works have earned her the prestigious Agatha and Anthony awards and is scheduled to receive next year's Malice Domestic Amelia Peabody Award for her contributions to the traditional mystery, is quite capable of creating a nice little work of suspense as this novel demonstrates.

The plot centers around young Janey Hamilton, who would seem to have an almost perfect life. She is married to a university professor and has a young daughter.

But her security is shattered one morning when she receives a mysterious letter bearing a note that reads:

"Ann Severin, you killed 54 people November 6, 1966"

Apparently, Janey is not who she claims to be; but is she responsible for killing 54 innocent people six years ago?

Her stalker is convinced that she is the murderous Ann Severin and is bent on revenge - even to the point of threatening Janey's young daughter, Margaret.

"Flee From the Past" is reminiscent of Hitchcock's spy thriller, "The Man Who Knew Too Much," as the suspense reaches it height with Janey desperately trying to save her child from the assassin who has kidnapped little Margaret.

And like the great master Alfred Hitchcock, Carolyn Hart keeps the reader's attention in this taut little thriller.
